Interior constructions

The facades, panels, windows, and doors within the thermal envelope are all entered the same way. This can be done in a simple and an extended method, i.e. unconditional or conditional.

Input level

This choice determines whether the input is specified depending on orientation (extended) or not (simple).

      Simple; all orientations are linked to one and the same construction.

      Extended; each orientation can be linked to a different construction. For example, the north side may be linked to a construction with better insulation.

For the extended method:

      Between buildings; This condition applies to constructions for which the two sides each border to a different building;

      Between habitable rooms; This condition applies to constructions for which the two sides each border to a habitable room;

      Between habitable room and circulation room; This condition applies to constructions for which the two sides border to a habitable- and circulation room respectively;

      Between circulation rooms; This condition applies to constructions for which the two sides each border to a circulation room;

      Other; This condition applies to constructions which do not comply with any of the above conditions.

Walls, floors and ceilings are automatically regarded as constructions bordering to a different building in case the room on the other side is defined within another building. In this case the software still regards it as an interior construction rather than a thermal envelope construction. This is intended to be solved at short notice.

Mezzanine floors

[Selection]
The floors are assigned to all geometric surfaces which are defined at the bottom side of a room, and border to a different room. The angle with respect to a horizontal plane of this surface cannot be greater than 30°. All constructions of the Type floor can be chosen as floors. This input cannot be specified using the extended method, i.e. per orientation.

Walls

[Selection]
The walls are assigned to all geometric surfaces which border to another room, and for which the angle with respect to a horizontal plane of this surface cannot be greater than 150° (180-30) and not smaller than 30°. All constructions of the Type wall can be chosen as wall. This input cannot be specified using the extended method, i.e. per orientation.

Windows, doors and panels

[Selection]
The windows, doors, and panels are assigned to all geometric surfaces which have been defined by the functions Add window, door, or other subfaces. All constructions of the Type windows, doors, and panels can be chosen as windows, doors, and panels respectively. This input cannot be specified using the extended method, i.e. per orientation.
