Description

Visulalisation

A construction can be visualised by means of a specified colour. Currently, the software does not respond to the choice of colour.

Type

The different construction types are automatically recognized by the software in the geometry section. These types can be assigned in an architectural template automatically;

      Floor; the floor can be assigned to all bottom surfaces of a room automatically. A distinction has been made between interior floors and floors which are adjacent to the outside environment.

      Flat roof; the flat roof can be automatically assigned to all horizontal upper surfaces of a room which are adjacent to the outside air. In case the surface is not horizontal it will be indicated as a sloping roof automatically.

      Sloping roof; the sloping roof can be automatically assigned to all diagonal upper surfaces of a room which are adjacent to the outside air. In case the surface is horizontal it is indicated as a flat roof automatically.

      Wall or partition; the wall or partition can be automatically assigned to all vertical, or close to vertical, surfaces of a room. We distinguish walls from partitions as the former are adjacent to the outside environment. Both walls and partitions can be either load carrying or not.

      Panel; the panel type can be assigned to all specified panels automatically. These subfaces need to be defined manually in the geometry of the project, see Add window, door, or other subfaces.

      Window; the window type can be assigned to all specified windows automatically. These subfaces need to be defined manually in the geometry of the project, see Add window, door, or other subfaces.

You can define, for each room separately, what constructions need to be assigned automatically by using the Architectural room template.

Input

The input specifies how the construction is defined and calculated.

      Material layers; this option allows you to define a structure based on a set of predefined materials. The Rc-, or U-, value of the entire structure is then computed based on the current norms. This option requires the Materials to be defined.

      Rc and density; this option allows you to specify the Rc-value directly. The required calculation will become simpler and this option may be convenient when the exact materialization is unknown. This option does not require any Materials to be defined.

      Normal window when you have chosen window as type, you can choose the input data for a standard window.

      Climate window if you have chosen window as type, you can choose the input data for a climate window. This needs imput data for inside glass and outside glass, and any Ventilation. The frame data and blinds can also be specified.

For building simulation and cooling load it is necessary to set the input to material layers. If there is a thermally active layer in te structure, this
