Power

The properties of the heat generator are specified here. The power of the heat generator is determined by the specified power of the air ventilation units in the various rooms which are calculated, and the part which is required for the heating coil in the air handling unit. The total power is doubled to ensure sufficient power is available to provide for the air ventilation units and the heating coil. The input and output temperature are important to determine the flow.

Thermal power

 EPG
The maximum thermal power of the generator can be specified here, expressed in kW. In case ‘Unlimited’ is specified no excess hours will develop based on a limited power of the generator. If excess hours do develop in this case, another component has to be specified.

§ Unlimited it is assumed the generator has an unlimited power

§ Specify Value the maximum power produced by the generator should be specified. If the required power is higher that this delivered power, the design temperature may not be reached. In this case one should increase the power or use a secondary generator.

Specifications

 BS

Standard: for which the supply-, return-, and ambient temperature are set at their default values, which depend on the generator system.

Custom value: this allows you to specify the supply-, return-, and ambient temperature.

Supply temperature

Standard 90.0 °C for heating and 6.0 °C for cooling BS
This is the temperature of the supply water for the generator at which the power value for the generator was measured. This temperature is not the heating curve used for the calculations.

Return temperature

Standard 70.0 °C for heating and 12.0 °C for cooling BS
This is the temperature of the water returning to the generator at which the power value for the generator was measured. This temperature is not the heating curve used for the calculations..

Ambient temperature

Standard 20 °C for heating 24 °C for cooling BS
This is the average ambient temperature in the surroundings of the generator when the wpoer value for the generator was measured.

Custom conversion efficiency

 EPG
Checking this box indicates a deviation from the flat rate efficiency is applied. In case of a heat pump for heating this is the COP value (Coefficient of Performance), and in case of a heat pump for cooling (to be defined as a compression chiller) this is the EER value (Energy Efficiency Ratio). A quality statement is required when using custom conversion efficiency.

Conversion efficiency

 EPG
The efficiency (COP or EER) of the generator is specified here if a custom efficiency is applied.

Efficiency domestic hot water

 EPG
The efficiency of domestic hot water in case of a combi heat generator is specified here in case a custom efficiency (quality statement) is applied.

Supply temperature

 EPG
This is the supply temperature of the heat pump in °C. The following temperature levels are applied for heat pump:

temperature less than, or equal to 30 ° C
temperature greater than 30 and less than or equal to 35 ° C
temperature greater than 35 and less than or equal to 40 ° C
temperature greater than 40 and less than or equal to 45 ° C
temperature greater than 45 and less than or equal to 50 ° C
temperature greater than 50 and less than or equal to 55 ° C

Specifications

 EPG
For a heat pump for heating, a supply temperature must be specified. The standard value can be applied or a custom value may be specified for the supply temperature.

§ Standard A default temperature of 80 °C is applied

§ Custom value A supply temperature may be specified in °C. See Supply temperature.
